I ended up throwing up for over six hours. Now I’ve mastered a method. Eat two slices of toast and wait twenty minutes. During that twenty minute wait I sip a glass of water. At the end of the time I take two pills and chase it with one or more glasses of water. Try to not be to active and sit calmly. Doxycline causes heartburn so do not lay down. For many, taking ocp prior to going to bed at night is helpful as the levels are higher while patient is asleep and less likely to be affected. While taking ocp with food in stomach may improve this side effect, many women don't have to. Thus, depends on individual. The drug will be lost (at least some part of it) if you vomit (immediately or sooner) after taking this medication, and therefore, you might not get the desirable or efficacious results. For a drug to provide maximal beneficial effects, it should be absorbed adequately to reach blood and subsequently the affected area of body where the infectious organisms are present.
